Also, today, (Thursday, 31 December 2009) at around 11:00 A.M. (Pakistan Standard Time), Abdul Basit Qureshi, Joint Unit In-charge of Unit 19, Lyari Sector was also killed in a target killing. The affected Areas where most of the killing is taking place are Lyari and Landhi, suburbs of Karachi. Lyari is infested with the criminals of “Lyari Gang War” and criminals of the so-called Peoples Amn (Peace) Committee, both led by the Late Abdur Rahman alias “Dakait” (Robber) , a don and a drug mafia involved in thousands of killings in Lyari and surrounding areas. Although, Abdur Rahman “Dakiat” was killed in a gun battle but his gang is still operating. Landhi, an area of Karachi is infested with the “Haqiqi” terrorists’.
